(27/04/2012) We are now looking for a public image to represent Parallel Voltage for site news broadcasts and interviews. For more information on applying, email StarBurst@ParallelVoltage.com.

The site rules are shown on this page, alongside information about moderators and the sanction system in place on Parallel Voltage. Make sure you don't break any of the rules below and make sure that you know them during future use of the website.

Parallel Voltage is a friendly free-to-use community for members and guests. To keep the site clean and welcoming towards all members, the websites staff enforce many important rules to prevent discomfort or arguements.

Each member has warn level which can be found by the status on their profile if they have any. This is a percentage based on any negative strikes you have been given by site moderators. Firstly, you will be given a verbal warning by staff, the second time you will recieve warn level (unless the offense is an instant ban category offense)

The official site and forum rules can be found below, alongside the warn level increase;

Parallel Voltage contains staff called moderators to ensure that the site is kept clean and rules are not broken. Although all members as well as staff have equal rights, moderators have more powers on the website, to activate site functions. Examples of these include;

- Adding warn to members that break site rules.
- Banning members that reach 100% warn.
- Activating the lottery draw.
- Editing profiles of members if they conflict with rules.
- Add special points (graphics, coding, ideas and audio) to members profiles if they have made any donations to the site.
- End Member of the month voting.

- Remove warn after a period of time from a member who has behaved within the rules.

Members of staff should be respected at all times, as should their decisions on a matter. Argueing with staff will not be tolerated if they have commanded you to stop doing something. Moderators work below Administrators and may pass on any serious matters that aren't within their control, however...despite the trust ensued in our moderators, logs are put in place to track moderating actions so that administrators can delete any possible corruption. Corruption in staff is very high protocol and high warn increases or instant bans may be put in place as well as a definite firing from the staff team. Moderators can be identified by blue names in the chatrooms and forum.

When a user reaches 100% warn on their account at Parallel Voltage, they are banned. We do this to give them a form of sanction that will teach them to prevent breaking rules and restrain them from the rest of their community. There are 3 levels of ban that we have put in place and all members should bear in mind that for a ban offense, a second chance is not given.

- Primary ban. The user is banned for one full week (7 days). When the ban is finished, the user returns with 50% warn, which they can lose over time if they stay within rules. The next ban they get will be their secondary ban.

- Secondary ban. This bans the user from using the site for 30 days. When the ban is finished, the user will return with a final warning and 50% warn which can be lost.

- Parallel Ban. This is the final ban recieved after 2 previous bans or when an instant ban from advertising or pornographic offenses are committed. The user won't be able to login until the year 3000. We are not joking!

When a member is banned. They will be unable to log into the forum and won't be able to use the site at all. The ban countdown until the end of their banning session will be displayed on every page until their ban period has ended, and then they will be able to use the website again. Bans carry over and if three are committed by a member in their lifetime, they will never be able to gain access to the website (well...until the year 3000 that is). Furthermore, their account status wil be changed to "Banned" to shame them. There will also remain a count on their profile of all the times they have been banned which will never be removed. If you get banned, the effects will be shown on your account for the rest of your time here.
